How many times have you have made a New Year’s resolutions knowing that you don’t really have the motivation or willpower to go through with it? Come on, I can’t be the only one!
Everyone needs a little bit of inspiration and motivation in order to help them achieve their goals (although sometimes a kick up the backside helps too!) By signing up to raise money and awareness for Henry Dancer Days, we know that you’re more likely to achieve the resolutions you have been putting off for years.
Not all fundraising events and activities require Lycra, high levels of energy and/or stupidity. In the past, we have had Slimming World groups who have donated to Henry Dancer Days, we’ve had coffee mornings, gigs and last month, we had the poetry recital in Morpeth.
We don’t mind how you raise the money; we just want to encourage you to get together with your friends, family and neighbours to achieve your resolutions while raising money and awareness for Henry Dancer Days.
If you’re still looking for the motivation needed to make your resolutions last, let me share this excerpt from 348 Days, the book I wrote about Henry’s illness…
‘As New Year’s Eve wore on H and I saw a fantastic firework display erupting over the roof of the hospital. He lay in bed watching; I sat by him, and we both wished we were elsewhere yet we both knew that we wanted to be together… As a descendent of the Douglas Clan, this night has always been the highlight of my social calendar. Five years on I feel that New Year is “just another day” and I would give anything to watch the fireworks with Henry in a hospital room.’
348 Days is available for £9.99 ( plus p&p) from email@example.comShare
